Dear Mom and Dad
At first when you told me to pursue a major in medical I was not happy. However, as I got older I started to think about it more. I liked taking chemistry in high school. But even then I didn’t think about majoring as a pharmacist. Now, that I am in college I actually changed my major and I am becoming a pharmacist. Not because you have told me to major in that but because I know I will enjoy it. I liked chemistry from the beginning but never thought I would actually become a pharmacist. However as I am fulfilling your dreams, which towards the end has become my dream. I am also minoring in math because along with chemistry I enjoy math.
Sincerely
You Daughter, Naila

I am going to be applying for the Seek Mentoring program for the upcoming summer, fall, and spring term. There are a lot of qualities needed to be a seek mentor and a lot of hard work to it. This great opportunity reminds me of my junior year in high school. I was taking seven different courses and during the spring term I participated in the College Now program. I had a lot of responsibilities on my shoulders. I needed to do well in school and in the College Now class I was taking, which was statistics. Not only that, I also needed to do well because I took this course from my own free will as a challenge to myself. Instead of spending time doing other activities I noted down my priorities and worked according to it.
During that specific term I spend my time studying for schoolwork and gave time for Statistic. At first, Statistics was very easy because it was the basic of math, which was a piece of cake. As the course continued I started to find it a bit harder than before. I started to give more time to that class and started to feel more comfortable. I was able to explain my friends the homework that were assigned to us. Not only that, during the time of the midterm we actually had a study group, in which I was going over the materials and explaining it to every one.
At the end of the semester I actually did very well in the course and also in my school year. This actually satisfied me a lot. I learned that I was capable of accomplishing anything I want. As long as I know what my priorities are and where I need to give more time. I know I can handle almost anything. Over all, I had a great experience and I hope I will be able to use thee qualities as a Peer Mentor.

Today we received our strong inventory test results. On top of my list was mathematics, which definitely was not a surprise. I like math a lot and I am pursuing my minor in mathematics.

These are some of the link I found on clinical pharmacy. While reading the information I found, I learned a lot about the steps I need to take in order to be a pharmacist. Over all its a six to seven year of education including the pre-requiste. After that, one to two years for the residency. Not only that, I found out that I will be working in a hospital environment and as a pharmacist , a person, works from 40- 50 hours a week.

Everyone has some weaknesses and some strength. The biggest challenge in life is to overcome your weaknesses and achieve your goal. With keeping this in mind I am going to start of writing about my weaknesses. At time I start to procrastinate and leave things at the last minute. Piles of work start to pile up allowing me not to concentrate fully on one material. This causes me to stress out a lot. However, I take my responsibility and make sure I finish all my assignments on time no mater how much work is piling, even if I have to stay up late. Not only that, I try to manage my time properly, by balancing the time evenly. Therefore I won’t procrastinate. As for my strengths, I work hard and try to make sure I know my priorities from the start. I like to help other, especially with math and I am bilingual.
