Stigmas

In the beginning people thought HIV was a gay disease. in the movie “How to Survive the Plague” and the HIV/AIDS Bureau showed that people were afraid because there was no treatments for HIV making it a death sentence which also caused people to shun gays because they were considered the cause of the disease. This influenced history by causing gays to fight for the treatment of STD’s and had gays convince the United State in launching health organizations in the first federal effort to fight the disease while also helping people live with having HIV.
