Pizan is one of the first advocates for feminism and was the first female author to write books for females in her time. The works from her time were depicting male and female in completely different manners, and it shows the tensions and conflicts between both genders since these depictions are based on the statuses of the genders in the society during that time. In her work “The Book of the Cities of Ladies”, she stands up and defends women and criticizes how male authors have depict women in an unjustified and mocking way. She believes that their actions are ignorant, evil, and even disobeys the order of God. She lists the reasons why men are depicting women in that way, she believes that they defected and jealous, so they decided to attack women to make themselves feel better about themselves. She believes that they could only bring others down to feel superior in order to have confidence in themselves.

What is the role of death in the play? Why does Hamlet spend so much time thinking about and/or discussing it?
If death is a real person then it would be the main character of the play, even more important than Hamlet, because it is the beginning and the ending of the story. It all started with the death of the old King of Denmark, which leads to Hamlet wanting to seek revenge and eventually causing the death of all the characters. It shows that death created a loop in the story because every death leads to another one, and pushes the storyline forward. While the play is so concentrated on death, it actually highlights the purpose of life, since death is unavoidable, it enhances the significance of how people choose to live their lives.
