Thesis statement: A story that exemplifies Campbellās heroic journey model is Journey to the West, where the underlying veracity is that it serves to illustrate and reflect our journey through the human experience.
The river flows to some end and along the way there is twists and turns. The end is unknown and may lead to danger such as a waterfall. The depths of the river can represent the hidden purpose of the journey. There are things in the river that can help such as things you can eat and then there are challenges or enemies such as poisonous snakes. Making it safely to the end of the river will be rewarding because it will give a sense of accomplishment and safety.

I think the image you chose was very beautiful. I also thinks it fits very well with your thesis statement. It shows the different twists and turns it takes to reach the endpoint in the journey for a hero. I like how you connected the end of the river as an accomplishment because I never thought of the joinery as a reward at the end but you can definitely talk about that in your essay as well. Good job.

Your thesis statement and interpretation of the picture are deep. I think your thesis statement is on point but maybe you could get a little more specific on what exactly in the story exemplifies the journey of life. I think its great but the professor may ask for it to be a little more specific!
I think your picture correlates with your thesis statement perfectly and it reminds of life in general. It reminds me of how we are faced with hidden obstacles and through that we encounter good and bad experiences but it makes accomplishing goals that much more special.

Yes, I agree with others that your image is a beautiful one, and fits very nicely with the Heroic Journey Model. Yes, I agree with Stacey, that you need to try to make your thesis more specific. You seem to be saying that Monkey’s Journey is a lesson, but the lesson is rather general, as you state it. In other words, what, about Monkey’s experience, is important for us to absorb? Try to be as specific as you can, then remember to connect major aspects of the journey with specific points on the model.
