Midterm Questions (Jorge, Jamie, Muneeb)

March 16, 2017 Written by | 2 Comments

The narrator from Bartleby, the Scrivener, and Monkey from Journey to the West, can both be viewed as traditional heroes. Discuss the qualities that both characters display that would put them in the category of “traditional hero”. What evidence from the text suggests that these two characters can be viewed as traditional heroes?

I feel like this a great question that’s detailed and clear on what’s being asked. It’s enough to help develop a proper written response. It compares two main characters from the novels we spent time on discussing. It requires us to think more to prove the position that they are traditional heroes versus any other hero type.

I think that is a great question, straight to the point and clear to understand. Both Monkey from Journey to the west and narrator from the Bartleby are hero, but the author already gave us a clearly theme, both they are traditional hero.
