In Moliere’s Tartuffe, religious and political characters are viewed in a negative aspect to further elaborate just how corrupt the archbishop and the religious system is.
In Tartuffe, Moliere creates characters the embodies high power in a religious system which is full of deceit and corruption .

Joseph, as a suggestion, it would be a better thesis if everything were to be combined together to form one thesis statement. It’s a lot better since both thesis are focused on the same writing. The view of the writing would have a closer aspect since both uses the “religious system” point.

In a thesis statement you need to be a descriptive as possible so your essay could be focused. For example, which religious and political characters? how corrupt is the religious system? Provide a brief example that you could go into in the latter paragraphs.
For the second thesis, the same suggestion. Which characters? what high power did they have? And again, how is the religious system full of deceit and corruption?
I agree with the post above, if you combine the both thesis’ maybe it’ll sound more focused.

Yes, both statements are quite broad. You need to think this through somewhat more, as to which characters (not more than two) you will use, and what aspect of religious hypocrisy you are going to discuss.
