- In “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka, Gregor’s transformation into a bug was symbolic to what he was suffering internally.
- Throughout “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka, the reader can see how Gregor’s personal conflict leads to his buggy transformation and eventually his demise.
- In “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka, Gregor’s buggy transformation is an example of how societal pressures cause someone to become isolated and disconnected to the ones around them.

I like your thesis statements and they would all make for good essays. I think the one you can write the most out of is the third one because it may be easier to discuss in details. Gregos has the weight of taking care of his family on his shoulders and when it was their turn to return the favor they didn’t. Societal pressures are even seen in today’s society and especially in this day and age, not conforming to such pressures does leave some people feeling disconnected to others. Its a very relatable topic to discuss and I’m sure it would make for a great read.

I like all of your thesis statements and they all allow you to elaborate on a specific idea that has a lot of content to write about. Personally, I believe your third thesis statement was the most effective because it was the most specific example and you could speak with great detail about it. The main idea I took from Franz Kafka’s story was the idea that society has the power to change how people see others and even how people think of themselves. Societal pressures have always been a considerable threat to the lives of some people because the pressure to conform to norms causes people to behave differently than they normally would. It is a great topic and one that allows you to integrate real-life into your essay. Overall, all three thesis statements were good, but the third was undoubtedly the best in my opinion.

Victoria, nicely done!
Your first and your third are your most effective, I think.
In your first, you would need to specify what, exactly, Gregor’s outer appearance represents about his inner world. In the third, you would need to discuss how, exactly, the society is pressuring the individual (what kinds of pressures) and how these pressures directly impact the individual.
