In Saikaku’s Life of a Sensuous Women, women in feudal Japan had to be married to an Aristocrat in order to be successful and become an ideal women to the other single women.

In Saikaku’s Life of a Sensuous Women, dreams and reality are often confused by the protagonist of the story. She tries to find love based on her dreams of how she believes love is suppose to be.

    Your second statement is your most focused, I think, and also your most evocative. Try to think how you would develop this (overall) and this will also help you to focus your thesis, which is still rather broad. In other words, what is, exactly, her “dream” of love, and how does her “dream” of love change throughout the story?
