- In Kafka’s The Metamorphosis do you believe that the transformation Gregor has experienced has allowed him to express his inner thoughts more? How do these thoughts express his feelings that he has towards his family?
- How does the theme of isolation relate to The Judgement, and The Metamorphosis? Also, why may you think Kafka used the same name for the main characters in these two works? Could there be an actual connection?

I think the first question is a good sort of analysis. I think that Gregor’s new form has given him a new, unique perspective that has provided him with a clearer picture and more broad understanding. Gregors new form has allowed him to analyze life in a whole new way and by this he was able to attain greater truth. Nevertheless a lot can be discussed regarding this question and the analysis can be insightful.

The first question is effective in that it allows the writer/ reader to do a character analysis on Gregor. While reading Metamorphosis, there is a lot of focus on the reactions of his family but this question allows us to explore Gregor from an internal and more personal level.
The second question is effective as it is a great way to compare two distinct works of literature using a common theme. It makes the writer/reader think deeper about the similarities between the stories and if the two main characters are indeed the same person. There may be a hidden common message in the two works that Kafka is trying to illustrate.
