The first question gets us to think critically about how the main character’s family in the “Metamorphosis” and think what was the author’s purpose( Kafka) to show us about the family. We have to find the significance of Gregor’s family which leads us to the theme.
In the second question it requires us to compare hero traits to Bartleby and rely on the text to find evidence to argue if Bartleby’s actions made him a hero or not.Its a clear question can be answered just by analyzing Bartleby’s character.

The first question makes us concentrate on Gregor’s family to understand the meaning of the metamorphosis. It also makes readers look at carefully how the family treat Gregor. Readers need to pay a great deal of attention to the conversations between the family members and how these attentions affect Gregor’s state of mind.
The second question, above all, requires us to fully understand the meaning of Campbell’s Heroic Journey. Also, readers need to know that all the actions Bartleby takes place throughout the story and how these actions have to do with the ending of the story, especially his death. Finally, readers need to verify that his death is linked directly to what he sets out to do as a hero.

The first question is interesting because it allows you to analyze Gregor’s family and their relationships with one another. You have to come up with your own opinion of how his family handled his transformation and if it was shocking because of their loss, or distraught from their loss of his hard work. For this question everyone will have a different opinion however, it allows you to analyze how relationships within families impact the interpretation of a metamorphosis. The second question is also an opinionated question allowing you to analyze how Bartleby’s actions made you feel, and your interpretation of him. Everyone sees Bartleby’s death as something different. For some people it may seem heroic because he stood up for what he believed in, whereas others may see this as a form of weakness and not heroic at all.
