Cartoons and Poe

My video proposal is the following:

I will be drawing out the entire poem through my analysis and make it into a entire cartoon of monsters and other imaginative creatures that run through this kid’s mind. The video will consist of someone drawing the entire scene while the video itself fast forward through the whole thing creating the illusion of it moving. at the end of the video everything will zoom out and you will see a clutter of cartoons and scenes put together, I am trying to take the audience into a adventure through the mind of a lonely child created by edgar allen poe.

Say what again

By reading this, just this, my head pounds, just pounds and pounds. For each word ask why. By reading this my head pounds and I ask why. Repeat yourself more woman, I can’t fully understand, understand, understand me, understand you. Repeat repeat and ask why. What’s delightful? Delightful in the path I chose, chose, chose to walk. For each step I take I steal a star, there’s no moon here no moon, no moon here. Repeat yourself more till I strangle myself with this H&M scarf, what if I took and pumpkin, roses with thorns and threw it at you? What if I threw them, threw them straight to you. Eat both of them dry for your words are the same. The same words the same words, I repeat the same words. Repeat yourself till I dread the next seconds, seconds, and more seconds whiling writing this to you, to you and only you. Repeat, my head pounds, I rather being pushing up daisies, more daisies and more daisies then a dead man could.

My rant is done.

Equality for all

On October 18, 2011 there was a protest outside of Union Township High School in Union NJ against the Facebook comments coming from one of the teacher named Viki Knox. Her Facebook comments consist of saying that being gay is “perverted” and “a sin”. She also compared it to cancer. The article can be viewed at the bottom. However, during the protest there was a big discussion in which questions if we really do have freedom of speech when it comes to posting comments on one’s Facebook. I believe a teacher should still be cautious on what she writes on her page or better yet keep her comments private from the rest of the people on Facebook. Unfortunately, she didn’t do that and one teacher confronted the principal to look into this. One of my friends was in the protest and spoke during the board meeting saying that she doesn’t feel safe in school anymore because of that, and feels a bit threaten now. A student shouldn’t feel threaten nor feel uncomfortable when going to school because a school’s environment should be safe for all not just for a certain group of people. I feel safe in Baruch college and I am glad I do because I don’t want to spend the rest of my 4 or 5 years studying at a institution that I constantly feel unsafe at.

Please help the Garden State Equality get the Township of Union board of education do the right thing for the students who attend Union High School.

Best In Documentaries

“Best in the Show'” directed by Christopher Guest showed how each character was connected to their love ones, dogs. Each scene in the movie was focused o one couple who were preparing for the Mayflower Kennel Dog Show in Philadelphia,PA and what types of things they will do to their dog just for it to win the competition. For example there was a middle class couple in Florida who will sing about their dog Winky and through out the film they will encounter ex boyfriends of Cookie Fleck, the wife of Gerry Fleck. This film has portrayed the notion of happiness by demonstrating that people will do anything to strive for happiness and perfection, even if its through their dogs.

This film made excellent transitions from one couple to the next because each and everyone of them were connected to one goal, to win the dog show in PA By being a independent film/ documentary it helped the viewers gain a personal connection to each and every character represented in the film. It worked by showing different types of personalities and how the dogs were related to their owner. For example there was a Shih Zuh named Miss Agnes and she was owned by a gay couple. In comparison to the gay couple,Miss Agnes showed a sense of style and elegance just like one of the partners did during the dog show. The director did a great job conveying the idea of happiness and perfection to the audience because many of us have pets and were able to relate to the type of obstacles the characters had to go through with their dogs. It definitely impacted me because I take care of my dog as if she was another person in the family, so to view this movie I was able to relate like many other dog owners to what each couple had to go through to win the competition. It’s been told that by viewing one’s dog, you already know its owner.

The 3 things that made me happy this weekend

The first thing that made me happy this weekend:

I finally found out what I am going to wear for Halloween and I’m going to be a fluffy sheep wearing superman underwear and a cape. Yes this is weird but honestly I could care less. I am tired of girls dressing up like sluts for Halloween like seriously. Halloween is when CHILDREN come out and trick o’ treat , I don’t think little boys should be exposed to half naked women and what not. BUT anyways I am very happy that I am going to be a sheep because I am going to be fluffy as hell and I have an obsession with cotton balls so this will be fun.

The 2nd thing that made me happy this weekend:

I bought myself the following items:  a mini Louis Vutton wallet that I got off of Ebay, and superman bra and briefs. Yes the last one was a little bit of a TMI but I am obsessed with Superman because he is my hero and will always be my hero. I would though consider this temporary happiness because I just bought stuff that made me happy for a little bit so yeah that was fun.

The last but not least the 3rd thing that made me happy this weekend:

My girlfriend went to my softball game on Sunday at Rutgers University (Newark) and she took me out afterwards and I couldn’t be any happier because this is the first time she saw play softball and I was a bit nervous to play in front of her but after a while i didn’t mind. Afterwards we got matching shirts that say “Cool Story Babe Now make me a sandwich” and I am actually wearing as I type this long blog post of mine =D.

So that concludes my happy 4 day weekend!

Love is Love.

Recently today I stumbled upon a new blog on tumblr that was about two girls from completely different places who are absolutely in love. This blog consist pictures of them together and the story behind their sudden romance that lasts longer then the miles between them. I couldn’t help but smile on how adorable this couple was. They share their thoughts publicly on what kind of love they both share.

As I sit there reading through the blog, I found myself shedding a tear of joy when I saw a post stating that one of them will propose to the other. These two women inspire me that even if you live miles and miles away from the love of your life, loving them through it all is all that matters.

Yes not many people like whole idea of a “long distance relationship” , but in life you must take risk. Taking a risk can also result into happiness like show on their blog. Personally, I am in a long distance relationship with a girl who lives in NJ and so far I am very content on how things are going. She isn’t that far so seeing her isn’t a problem but these women on the blog make me appreciate the fact that I am lucky to have someone that I can at least see every weekend. If you are happy embrace that moment that you are happy. Even if it’s with a love one, embrace the fact you are close to them to share that one magical night with them. Love is love.

Plato: Book Seven Response

Book 7 Response:

There is a famous metaphor presented in the beginning of this book; “the allegory of the cave”. This metapohor is defined to explain what role and effects education has on people. The book begins with a group of men stuck in a cave since birth. All of them have no knowledge of the outside world  and can only grasp a glimpse of it from the shadows developed by the statues beside them. These men use imagination to depict what could be outside of the cave. They discuss about men, women and horses as if they saw them in real life, but imagination could run wild as far as one is concern. One of the prisoners are freed and dragged outside of the cave. He is baffled on how bright the sun is and how everything around him is actually real. This example explained that education shouldn’t be taken as a way to only gain knowledge but a way to recognize your sight in reality. If a person only depended on their imagination of a object or place, they will be viewed as foolish and ignorant because they weren’t put into a situation in which teaches them how to react properly to it. By recognizing what’s real, a person can understand the difference between good and bad and have a more understanding in the form of good. Courage also plays a part in understand how education effects the human soul. If one isn’t brave enough to look beyond the position they are in, he won’t adapt to a different sight of reality and know the form of good.
