I picked a poem by Igor Guberman, he is a russian poet. The poem’s original name is Нечто патриотическо, meaning something patriotic. I am not 100% fluent in russian reading, my dad showed me this poem about a week before the essay was assigned and i thought it would be appropriate. Also when i heard the poem it kind of touched me, the way it is written, the way each sentence is phrased, the strong structure and meaning behind each line and paragraph. The poem really flows and it is perfectly built. His style of writing is pretty much the complete opposite from Gertrude Stein. He also uses humor in his poem, for example he says the the morals he stands on is to love his county and in the next line he says that he wouldn’t mind to take a sit. The poem has really touched me since Guberman writes about israel and him and every jew being a patriot towards his country and i moved out of Israel about 5 years ago.I am thinking about filming some patriotic things like the israeli flags, maybe a shot scene from the “ten commandments”, anything else that would come into mind that will show really strong patriotism, regardless to everything else.
Confusion, Dilution, Transfusion
And so the reading of a reading commenced as the commencement of a reading commenced. And such commencement commenced as the reading was read.
One. Confused. Abused by the lines and fused with such rhymes unused.
Two. Repetitive. Again and again and again again. Slightly different and then again again again. And once more
Three. Trance. —
From line to line I lined the reading. A reading read by lines line after line. The lines commenced in commencement and my interpretation began.
An interpretation interpreted as possibly interpreted where interpretation can be made of a soul interpreted. But how can one interpret the interpretation of an interpreter?
Such as the drawing of a drawer the drawings of the drawing were drawn. And the lines were drowned in the drawing. The drowning drawings lined with lines were outlined with lines so drawn that they were drowned.
! Challenge !
I now challenge every person whom reads this post to find a poem and switch the lines around, it could be a pattern like mine or it could be just switching lines. The challenge is to make the poem either funny, better or make more sense by switching lines. I don’t think that switching words will be as challenging as whole lines. Please comment or post or refer us to the original poem and post the revised poem so we can see what you have done. If the poem is too long you can just post the lines that you find important to revise. You can also emit words and add punctuation marks to help make your point. Good luck =)
I picked “The Art Of Response” by Audre Lorde and the pattern i used is to pick the first line and the last line, the second line and the line before last and etc’. I hope you like it 😉
The first was incorrect| changed the question
The second was| the fifteenth
*Sorry, the third trimmed its toenails| near a toilet in the Big Apple circus
*on the vatican steps| the fourteenth sold cocaine and shamrocks
the fourth went mad| refused
the fifth| the thirteenth
nursed a grudge until it bore twins| that provides doctors for central Harlem
that drank poisoned grape juice in Jonestown| processed funds from a third world country
the sixth wrote a book about| the twelfth
the seventh| next to Eternal truth
argued a case before the supreme court| and the eleventh dug their graves
against taxation on girl scout cookies| revenge on the opposition
the eighth held a news conference| the ninth and tenth swore
while four black babies| for a hospital bed to die in
and one other picketed New York City
Poems might have subliminal messages and they can hit it out, have it clearly written, and have it hidden inside them and the only way to find them is through a logarithm. So play around with your poems and see what you get, the message is always different.

Some people come into our lives
leaving foot marks
in our lives
and some
making us
leave foot marks
on their bodies
Now i don’t know what will be
in my life while i deem to live free
a life with no obligations

My Thoughts About The Near Future
I am very excited for my birthday which is coming up in 8 days ! (October 21st). My 2 best friends united to organize a surprise birthday party. Now you may ask if its a surprise why do i know about it, well the answer is simple; had they not organized the party and let me know about it, i would have organized my own party. Therefore, they decided to let me know not to organize anything and just wait for instructions!
Besides them organizing my surprise party, i am planning on going sky diving! well its defiantly going to be something memorable to do with my friends and i have always wanted to do it so why not now? Oh did i mention that my parents know nothing of this? Yea, about that… I am just thinking of coming home and showing them the video. They can’t really do much can they? I mean if jumping out of a plane didn’t kill me, i shouldn’t really be afraid of them right?
So what i do know about my birthday is that my friends and i will be going to some place to get food, and then head on to a club in the city, after all my job is promoting clubs in the city… By the way, everyone reading this is more then welcome to join me at either of the 3 events. Just let me know and i will give you one of my friends contact information.

?¿ Freud ?¿
After reading Freud’s “beyond the pleasure principle” i was extremely confused with the concept of the human instinct towards death so i decided to research it. After reading the wiki page for the text http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beyond_the_Pleasure_Principle, i realized that there was an actual instinct in our society which drives us to our own death. As weird as it sounds, it exists.
To be honest, after i read the wiki page i was more confused then prior to reading it. It says that this specific text from freud is the most confusing one so i felt a little better about myself. “the most unbelievably ambiguous text from freud. So obviously after reading the wiki page i was unsatisfied with the understanding i had of the text or Frued’s state of mind and meaning of the text, so i continued my research. I found this video on youtube which made things a lot clearer about freud. I hope you guys will enjoy it and find it informative. Book Seven – “allegory of the cave”
Education and ignorance are daily experiences which accumulate to each individual, which make a person’s personality. “allegory of the cave” is a metaphor for the lives everyone lives and how our minds would function in that situation. Each person evolves an individual by the things he learns and gets educated about. Ignorance is also something a person evolves over time, and the only way to get rid of ignorance is education. Education takes time, thus ignorance is something which we should encounter frequently.
In the cave, prisoners see shadows of different statues and because they have not seen anything else in their life, they believe that the things they see is the realest and truest things around. Of course, after they see the statues they understand that the statues are actually the real thing, and after they walk out of the cave, they realize that there are other things which are “truer” and “realer”. Taking a step back we see that in order to know what true value is we need education, therefore the idea of “true value” is a concept of relativism. The people maneuvering the statues know that the statues are more “real” then the shadows the prisoners see. At the same time, the prisoners who are supposedly oblivious to what is going on behind them are experiencing true ignorance by believing that the shadows are the “real” thing.
In the beginning i thought about the allegory of the cave as a game, in order to understand the theory. The initial level is seeing the shadows and once you move on to seeing the statues and so forth you move up in the levels of the game. The way to win the game is to be able to explore as much as possible and come out with the most analysis once you get out of the cave and see the sun, grass, houses and etc’.
