Wilder vs Joshua Fight in the Works

Current WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder says massive deal to make mega fight against fellow heavyweight, and superstar boxer, Anthony Joshua. Apparently the deal guarantees Joshua a pay day of a whopping $50 million plus 50% of any revenues made at the site of Joshua’s choosing.

Wilder who is 40-0-0 with 39 knockouts and believes he is next in line to fight Joshua. If made possible, the fight would be a unification bout for the four heavyweight titles. “It’ll definitely get made,” he said, “It’s just a matter of time. With the magnitude of this fight, it takes time. I think a lot of negotiations and different things are going on. That’s part of the build-up to it. When the fight happens, it’s going to be an epic one. At the end of that fight, there will be one champion, one face, one name, and his name is Deontay Wilder.”

Wilder also said he watched undefeated fighter Jarrell Miller remain unbeaten in a unanimous decision win over heavyweight boxer Johann Duhaupas, whom Wilder also knocked out in the 11th round of a fight in 2015. Miller and Joshua are both promoted by Eddie Hearn. Hearn has talked about Joshua facing Miller before Wilder. “I’m ready for Anthony Joshua,” Miller said after the fight in New York City. “Let’s bring him to Brooklyn and show him how we do it.” Wilder, though, thinks he’s next in line for Joshua in what would be his first fight outside of his native Britain.

Conor McGregor Released on $50K Bond After Barclays Incident

Following a disastrous weigh-in for UFC 223, sources say that MMA star Conor McGregor has been released from the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn North. McGregor was charged with 3 counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of felony criminal mischief when he attacked a bus packed with rival fighters, even sending some to the hospital with serious facial lacerations. He has since been stripped of his lightweight belt. As a result of the attack, three fights that were previously on the UFC 223 card have been scrapped.

When asked if McGregor would be fighting in any upcoming events, UFC President Dana White responded, “Would you want Conor working for you after this?”

It looks as though Conor McGregor has a lot of time to train before his next fight, if it ever happens. His court date is currently set for June 14.
