Hip Hop and Youth

Music has a strong influence on the lives of many people around the world. In the U.S., hip hop has evolved to beome one of the dominant genres in todays music. Popular artists have become role models to the youth of America. Rappers such as Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and many more, have become idols to children of every age. Whether these rappers have a good or bad influence on the youth is what this website will aim to do.

“Through The Wire” is the first single ever released by Kanye West and it remains the best song he’s ever done. This song was written and recorded by West after an October 2002 car accident resulted in the rapper having his jaw wired shut. This song samples the 1985 Chaka Khan “Through The Fire” and won Video of the Year at the 2004 Source Hip Hop Awards.
