Jenny Everdeane
Jenny Everdeane is a female character played by Cameron Diaz in the movie ‘Gangs of New York’. Her role is of a pickpocket and con woman who becomes the object of Amsterdam’s desire though he soon discovers that she is also romantically involved with Bill, the main antagonist who is responsible for Amsterdam’s father, Priest Vallon’s death.
As a female lead in the movie, she is strong, outgoing, and intelligent; swift in her ways and easily outsmarts her many victims. Her character also highlights the role of women in the Five Points era, and how crimes such as pickpoketing and theft were carried out by women in her profession. As the movie advances, Jenny will be responsible for many important and conflict causing revelations that will drive the plot to the climax.
