Dolly The Sheep

The video is from Discovery News in 1997, in which the video displays Dolly the sheep who became the first animal to be successfully cloned. The video goes further in to detail as to how the cloning process occurs and issues in stem cell.

This is a Important Historical moment because it is a drastic advancement in technology. However, the cloning raises issues in ethics, morals and religion.

I think we shouldn’t go too far with tests on genetic material. I do support tests that help fighting diseases to make our lives better, although I think we shouldn’t lengthen our lives too much, or “design” a baby.

Technology always brings goods and bads together. Ideas help humans to become stronger, hope that will not ruin us in the future.

Well, I wouldn’t want to go as far as to “improve the human race” but cloning is a HUGE advancement! I mean to start from A SINGLE CELL, and go backwards to create a living animal with specific genetic traits! You can possibly use this to replicate genetic material that can not only help cure disease, but do so much more from creating organs to enhancing the productive capacity of farm animals.

This is scary, cloning is something that should just be out of a movie. But science has been playing God for years, hopefully they can take this and find ways to help cure diseases, to improve the human race.
