The H1N1 outbreak was a frightening virus that had many Americans rushing to emergency rooms. The symptoms were general flu type symptons which made it hard to determine whether or not one was sick with the H1N1 flu or the regular flu. Some say the pandemic is not over. Although the United States made the vaccine very accessible to the public there remained a surplus of the vaccine. The attached photo was extracted from the New York Times, the photo was taken by Michael Buholzer/Rueters.

This agree with this post. It was scary for the whole nation. I remember when I was travelling to Home country India. They were checking all the passengers arriving or departing for all the symptoms. Thank God its over.
This event reminded me of the SARS outbreak that in occurred in 2003, the event was much more severe, in which Killed thousands in parts of asia and europe.
Everyone was scared for people coughing or sneezing. Everyone started to wash hands very often. It was such a scary time for Americans.
I remember that there were so many talks about the H1N1, that it spread rumors and created paranoia amongst people. Also, I would say uses of hand sanitizers and masks became more popular after this pandemic…
I agree with Fernando the H1N1 came to the point where everyone was so paranoid and thought they were infected with a simple sneeze. That whole scene of walking around with masks was terrifying, I didn’t even feel safe on the subway!
This was definitely a scary time for adults and anyone in general. The mere thought that you were unable to distinguish between symptoms and common colds were definitely frightening. Thank GOD although there may be some still floating around, the majority of this storm is over.
I remember looking at my kids every time they sneezed or coughed, the only thing running through my mind is could they be infected. But thank God that nothing ever happened. This virus appeared out of no where and spread so fast. At least the government moved pretty guickly to make sure it was able to control the outbreak.
