President George W. Bush celabrated 100years anniversary of the first radio station in Massachusetts.  Reginald Aubrey Fessenden got this honor due to his invention of the world’s first radio broad cast.  He worked for Thomas Edison in his New Jersey laboratory as a canadian engineer, and he tried to produce the “wireless telegraph” to carry human voice through the air.  The first extended broadcast of human voice was transmitted on December 24, 1906 in Brant Rock in Massachusetts. As President mentioned about how the radio station have done the important role in American society, Fessenden had opened the technological improvement as much as the development in people’s standard of living.

Radio is not only media and news. Radio had a big impact on development of nautical (naval) and aircraft industries. Titanik tradegy wouldn’t ever happened if ship would have RADAR (radio detection) system. RADAR systems are also being used to help aircrafs navigate in “blind situations”, such as night or fog. We can’t emagine any spy story without the use of the radio systems. The creation of radio was a start point for the many contemporary hightec industries.

Radio is very first advanced technology as the communicative device before TV, internet, and cell phone. Thus, invention of radio and its broadcast was very new and advanced, and must be a popular way for public speaking and informative communication so far.

  3. Alfaro says:

Although not only radio but also the television are very important technological advances through which many people receive news and entertainment, I think that Internet is the most democratic way to share information. Not everybody owns a radio or a TV station, but many people own a personal computer with internet access through which one can share his or her opinion.

This first radio broadcast proved to be the most leading technology of the twentieth century. Using radio waves to communicate was really fast, reliable and it was relatively inexpensive; therefore, it became widely used by many countries all over the world. It changed the way we see the world and what we think of it. In case of an emergency everyone that had a radio could hear the most updated news in a matter of seconds.
