Arizona’s New Law

I found this picture on connectamarillo.com in reference to Arizona’s new law on illegal immigration. This law requires local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there’s reason to suspect they’re in the country illegally. The law also makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. illegally. In my opinion this law is violating the natural rights of human beings because your skin color will be enough of a reason to suspect you are in this country illegally. And this is where racial profiling of hispanics will arise. Whatever happened to “States are required to respect and ensure the human rights of all persons subject to their jurisdiction, without discrimination.”?  Supporters believe this law will drive many immigrants out of the country on their own. But according to statistics Arizona’s economy is suffering due to this law which anyone can conclude that immigrants are a big contribution to the economy as a whole.

If this law isn’t the biggest sign of racial profiling I don’t know what is. I don’t see why attack Mexican, South Americans, hispanics,or any race for that matter. These people come here to work, and the money they make goes right into the economy. I mean if we want to get technical then every single person in the United States should go back to where they came from. I think we as a country has bigger fish to fry, bigger issues to worry about, bigger conflict that our resources should go to. This country was built on the sweat of immigrants, and now theirs an issue? We pride ourselves on freedom, but condem those who come here for it. I see the issues around the world and it makes me sick. How is it, we as a country are forcing help in the middle east but here on our own land we have homelessness, hunger, abuse, drugs and list goes on, and we are worried about people who come here to work and make a better life for themselves. Our government spends billions on a war that we really dont know for what because terrorism is already here, yes protect our borders but why not spend billions on our schools, employment, stopping hunger, you know things that matter and can improve our country. Why call the this the land of the free, if we really aren’t. Sorry to say this but our government is full of S***, we need an over haul of it all. Reform for government. This law should be stuffed down Arizona’s Governors throat. I want to apologize if I upset anyone but I will not apologize for my views.

This immigrantion law will violate the human right itself. For sure, the police officer would always check the identification of people who look like foreigners and look the low-classes maybe. I definitely feel it is not right!!

This law will stop illegal immigrants to enter Arizona in a short term. However, it is an insult to the people who look like foreign-born. People with “color” will be afraid to be in Arizona, because police officer will no doubt check their ID. It’s an invasion of human rights.

This law will increase specially the hispanic profiling. it show not be the police’s jobs. They should only enforce security in the borders.

This law has it’s advantages and disadvantages but it stirred an incredible amount of outrage from the public. My opinion is that this law essentially creates a police state where cops will undoubtedly engage in a kind of racial profiling. Although it will help reduce the number of illegal immigrants living and working in the state, it is still not respecting human rights in this Country.

I came to this country in 1991, and now after 20 years I feel so lucy and glad that I have the opportunity to study my bachelor degree in this great school, for me is like a dream come true. However unfortunately not everybody are so lucky and now with this new law in Arizona, is going to difficult that many immigrant make their dream come true. Sometimes many people don’t want to see the benefits of the immigrants workers. For example I ask me self if some people wiling to stop working because now they have to do things that many immigrants people do. The questions is who is going to wash the dishes in the restaurants, who is going to made the food deliveries, who is going to iron your clothes in the back of the dry cleaners, who is going to cut you grass, who is going to work in the vegetable crop in hot sunny day, who is going to clean the offices during night time, who is going to risk their live cleaning windows in the tall buildings, who is going to make the flowers bouquets on Mother’s day, who is going to shine your shoes before you have a meeting, any way the list can be endless, but the answer is just one: The Immigrants. So in this country everybody need everybody.
