Hitler before we Knew Him

This is a picture of Hitler as a soldier. It conveys how he is no different than any other soldier and went through what everyone else went. What differentiates him and turns him into the Hitler we know today must be determined by the viewers since there in so right answer.

President Woodrow Wilson gave a speech to congress on January 8, 1918. His speech outlined 14 points that if were enacted will lead to lasting peace. LAter this speech was to be dubbed “14 Points”.

Fall of Berlin Wall

The Berlin Wall fell on November 9 ,1989 and represented the beginning of the demise of communism in the the USSR and more generally the world. It was erected to divide between East Germany and West Germany, after WWII, which were the communist and democratic sides of Germany respectively. Hordes of people from the East flocked to the West celebrating Germany’s reunification.

Woodstock

The 1960’s were a decade of change and the beginning of true liberalism and acceptance of the different . It began with Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X and their fight for the black rights and anti racism in the United States. Both very influentel leaders who will effect the lives of many Americans and increase equality in the country. The 60’s was also the era of increaing woman rights and with that their expressivness came out in fashion, with decreasing shirt heights and showing more skin. With all that the one most important change that happened that will have far out reached riffles into all parts of American society and the world’s out large is the Hippie movement.

Even though its source is anti war and especially the Vietnam war. This movement revolutionized and far out passed the acceptable. It defied what people accepted normal at the time and brought about the acceptance of the different and the not so typical. This movement encompasses what the 60’s were about , change and difference. Furthermore forcing society to accept the different and respect it regardless of its disbelief or differences in point of view.  The movement faded out quickly in the 70’s but it helped American’s cope with the extremism that was to come over the next couple of decades, and thus its the most influential change of the 60’s.

Fall of Berlin Wall

The fall of the Berlin wall happened in 1989, it represented the beginning of the end of communism and the Soviet Union. It also signaled the end of the Cold War, which the US and USSR were both building an arsenal of nuclear weapons that could have destroyed the entire world.

Obama’s Inauguration

This picture was taken from the Washington Post. It shows President Barak Obama being inaugurated as the 44th president of  The United States. It took place on January 20, 2009, adn to his left is his wife Michelle Obama.

This is an important picture since it depicts a milestone in the US’s political and racial history. From a country that discriminated no less than 50 years ago today we have a minority as our president. An achievement every country should strive for.
