Second Impeachment In US History
On December 18, 1988 former President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representative on charges of perjury, obstruction of justices and malfeasance in office which arose from the Monica Lewinsky and Paula Jones lawsuit. The trial proceedings were largely partisan, with no Democratic Senators voting for conviction and only five Democratic Representatives voting to impeach. In all, 55 senators voted not guilty, and 45 voted guilty on the perjury charge. Bill Clinton also was acquitted on the obstruction of justice charge. This was the second impeachment in American History.
On February 12, 1998 the Senate came back from closed deliberations with Bill Clinton acquittal.
This picture of Bill Clinton shows a man going through one of the biggest struggles and humiliation that a public person could go through.

largest democracy.
largest democracy.
“Clinton’s visit was taking place at a time of warming of relations between the two countries, and reflects the common desire of both countries to move towards a new, broad-based, forwardlooking, politically constructive and economically productive partnership. The threat of terrorism faced by both countries from the same source has added a new dimension to India-US cooperation”

Kyoto Treaty
The Kyoto treaty or Kyoto protocol is a set of rules that have the intention to fight global warming. The Protocol was initially adopted in Kyoto, Japan on December 1997 and entered into force on February 2005. While many countries have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol, the Bush administration withdrew the United States from the Kyoto Treaty in 2001. Ratification means that a nation agreed to cap (limit) emissions in accordance with the Protocol.

L.A. Riots of 1992
[kml_flashembed movie="http://www.youtube.com/v/1bEG2AMaM7w" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent" /]
Los Angeles riots were sparked on April 29, 1992, when a jury acquitted four Los Angeles Police officers accused in the videotaped beating of African American motorist Rodney King following a high-speed pursuit. Thousands of people in the Los Angeles area rioted over the six days following the verdict. At that time, similar, smaller riots and anti-police actions took place in other locations in the United States and Canada. Widespread assault, arson, looting, and murder occurred, and property damages topped roughly $1 billion. In all, 53 people died during the riots and thousands more were injured.
These riots show the significance of law enforcement and how discrimination can lead to more than just injustice but death. These people had seriously lost their minds as you can see this clip shows human beings behaving as animals.

Bill Clinton Signs NAFTA (1993)
Bill Clinton signed into the North America Free Trade Agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico on December 8, 1993. It is hard to evaluate the pros and cons of NAFTA. What’s interesting about this agreement for me is that countries which have different cultures and sizes of economic achieved an economic integration.

The Beijing Declaration on Women (1995)
The principle themes of this video were the advancement and empowerment of women in relation to women’s human rights, women and poverty, women and decision making, voilence against women and other areas of concerns. This file is important to U.S history because is shows that USA played an important role in the establishment of women rights worldwide.

NASA spacecraft lands on Mars (1997)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuGFx7m5XNc
I found this video on www.youtube.com. It was an original BBC news cast. NASA sent this spacecraft to Mars in order to search for life (water). The mission carried a series of scientific devices to analyze the Martian atmosphere, climate, and the composition of its rocks and soil. One of the scientific purposes of the mission was to examine whether Mars could once have supported microbial life forms. The mission was successful and an amazing discovery. Knowing that other planets besides Earth can sustain life is very encouraging for our future.

Clinton Scandal and Impeachment
This is a clip of former president Bill Clinton and some of the reasons which led to his impeachment. This is important because he will go down in history as being the second president to get impeached although he was acquitted from full impeachment by the Senate.
