Toploader – Dancing in the moonlight

I will use this song as a background music when John and Edward’s family gather up for Thanksgiving Day in 1927.

This scene should be very joyful and happy because it was the Economic Boom years in 1920’s.

I picked this song because it was perfectly fittable for that joyful scene and I like how it’s classic since the time peoriod is 1920’s in the movie.

Fast tempo, joyful, and makes you dance! I think this song is perfect for this scene.

I Don’t Want To Set the World on Fire

This here is a piece of music that I would put in my movie. My movie will be about the stock market crash and the struggles of people living during the time. While this song was made in the 40’s, I feel the tone and sound can be matched to my movie. It’s very mellow and slow and would fit with the feelings of people at that time.

Jazz Age 1920 to 1929

This song is from YouTube. It was introduced in the first recording of The Original Dixieland Jazz Band, which is generally considered as one of the bands who had their first Jazz recording in 1917. Their recordings sparked the Jazz Age of the United States.

The Jazz Age describes the period after the end of World War I, through the roaring Twenties, ending with the onset of the Great Depression. Jazz was first performed in New Orleans dating from the early 1910s. In 1920s Following World War I, African Americans in search of better employment opportunities moved to the northern part of the United States. With them, they brought their Jazz culture to big cities like New York and Chicago. During this period of time, Jazz was popular music performance in bars, dancing halls and night clubs. Jazz was also changed men’s and women’s fashion style as well.

Michael Jackson

I think that Michael Jackson is certainly very important for the American History. He was born in the time of intense segregation in USA, during Jiw Crow Law, but he made his way up to conquer the world. Michal Jackson broke all cultures and racial barrier. Who doesn’t love Michael Jackson? The world will miss this amazing talent African American forever.

This music was introduced in 1991 and released in 1993 with other hits like “Black or White”.

Smells Like Teen Spirit

This here is a video of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit written by Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl and produced by Butch Vig.  The song was released on September 10th, 1991.  The song itself starts slow and gradually builds up in tempo and dynamics.  The vocals and screams of Kurt Cobain shows emotion and the angst of the younger generations are portrayed brilliantly in this song.

This video and song is important in American history as it redefined the music industry.  With this song comes the creation of an alternative rock type music called grunge.  This song would shortly become the unofficial anthem for the younger generations known as Generation X.  For those who haven’t heard this song yet I strongly recommend you do.  Take five minutes to enjoy this song.
