Assessment of learning is valued and typically includes a statement of desired learning outcomes as well as an assessment plan.  Faculty members establish what students are expected to learn at the start of the course and how they are to demonstrate that learning. Alternative forms of assessment are encouraged, such as student portfolios, efolios, or peer assessment.
