Hi Julee,
I hope the day is treating you well and it is my great pleasure to contact you about a feature that I believe you’d be interested in. My name is Amanda Kavaja and I am a freelance American-Albanian journalist from Queens, New York. Based in all five boroughs in New York City, I have come across numerous Albanians.

As a woman, I regularly cut my hair and do my makeup for special occasions and bridal events. With this, I’ve noticed that the majority of hair salons that I visit are owned and employed by Albanian women. Specifically, those that have newly immigrated from their home country, Albania. Successful in their professions as hairstylists, makeup artists, and other cosmetology-related professions, their clients never stop coming. From weddings to parties, their salons continue to prosper financially because of their substantial work in beauty.

I want to discover how Albanians have gained much recognition and experience in this field and what motivated them to do so.
Strongly knowledgeable and admiring of your pieces in beauty journalism, I feel that you would connect with this story considerably.

Thank you for your consideration and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon!
My contact info will be placed below.

Best,
Amanda Kavaja
