Jinlong Was born in Hong Kong to Business woman Amanda Yip Mui Tong and immigrant father Cai. After graduating from High School in 2005, he moved to Beijing to pursuit his dreams and career. Flabbergasted by the city’s rich mixture of modern life and ancient history, jinlong worked as an employee for UNDP AIDS programme, where he aided in sample researching and date collecting.
In the year of 2007, Jinlong switched his job and became a food critic for a national recongnised magazine, where he tasted all kinds of food from all over the world.
During his stay in Beijing, China, Jinlong became aware of the human right abuses, he later became an advocate of Human Rights movement in China. Jinlong is a strong supporter of Jasmine Revolution happening in China.
Jinlong is an anti war activist, animal rights activist and life time vegetarian. he has been engaged in charities since high school, he is an active member of Jet Li’s One Foundation.
Growing up in a single parent family, Jinlong developed his independent side. He started to travel at age 16, left his footsteps on 4 continents and 29 countrie, Jinlong completed his two months long “tour de USA” in the summer of 2010.
Although growing up with Buddhism and Christianity, Jinlong became an atheist at an early age. He strongly believes the universal value of equalitarianism. Jinlong is a strong support of female rights, gay rights and abortion rights.
In the summer of 2008, Jinlong decided to leave Beijing and started his life in the United States of America. He is currently attending the City University of New York.
Jinlong listens to Mary Gauthier and Karen Mok, his favourite writer is Yik Sue. Jinlong is also the creator of the cocktail Hong Kong Sway.
Jinlong has been happily committed in a relationship since 2010. He currently lives with his cat Jupiter in his Forest Hills apartment.
