Howdy, Psychology people

Hi, Holla, Howdy, and Yo, professors and students. I’m Jake Kyle, a male Sophomore at Baruch college, naturally. I’ve lived in Staten Island my entire life, a mistake i hope to correct for my children. Just kidding, but seriously I have to take a boat here and back everyday, so just keep that in mind.

Psychology is not my intended major, but i don’t have an intended major so that statement is meaningless. I am not apart of any clubs or anything related to Baruch, but I have been contacted to work as a tutor for SACC so maybe that can become something eventually (haha, elsie :p). I also work 4 days a week minimum wage while going to class 5 days, so I’m all in favor of a new 10 day week schedule, just sayin…

I don’t know what i’m doing doing with my life, and everyday this truth rings louder. Grandma asks me what I want to study: “I don’t know granny”, Father wants to know what i want for a career: “I don’t know dad”, Mom wants to know who I’m going to marry: “C’mon lady, i really don’t know”. The only thing i know is that I try to live for the people that make me happy, and that makes my life one big variable. So i really don’t have a path, just whatever ground feels right. I’ve noticed that the times I’ve been the most miserable have been the times spent alone. If you have another to share life with then I believe anything can be overcome. The worst days can turn around to be the most intimate and revealing, and the best are that much better when remembered by two minds or more. I guess this isn’t really a “hobby” but more of a belief. So my “hobbies” in a nutshell are talking about anything that makes my mind spark, playing guitar like i have four feet, writing a lot and hoping i’m not wasting my time with nonsense, reading paper books, day dreaming/mind doodling, watching movies, and eating. I know eating is a necessity, but eating like a faux food connoisseur is totally not, so I think it counts.

To end, here is one of my favorite quotes:

“A candle loses none of its light by lighting another candle”

It’s just a nice reminder that you lose nothing by helping another.

That’s my hiya to ya’ll. Later

Jake Kyle
