Research Reflection

What area of interest/research question do you wish to explore through a research study design?
What is the effect of number of classes taken on the performance of students?
What is the effect of number of tasks on the performance of students?
During this research, I am going to observe how a number of classes taken influences how student do in school.
What type of design would best suit your research question? (Experimental, Correlational, etc)
My research will be a correlational study
What research method would you use to conduct your experiment? (Survey, case study, naturalistic observation, lab experiment, etc.)
I will use a survey on a representative sample.
If applicable, what would you put as your independent and dependent variables?
INDEPENDENT VARIABLE: a number of classes taken
DEPENDENT VARIABLE: grades/performance during school
Give a hypothesis about what you think you might find.
The more classes a particular student takes, the lower his/her grades are.
What might be the benefits and implications of this study? In other words, who would gain from it? Basically, students can gain from this study. They can learn how many classes they can take to perform good in school.
Please reflect on the process of designing this experiment. What were the challenges you faced? Was this more/less difficult than you expected? How?
The most difficult part of this research was to find a subject or area of study.
