■What area of interest/research question do you wish to explore through a research study design?
Would it be more beneficial to buy a monthly metro card or buy one everytime you take the subway?
■What variables or concepts are you looking to observe and/or manipulate?
The variables I’m looking to observe is the monthly metro card or a single ride metro pass.
■What type of design would best suit your research question?
The best design that would suit my research would be experimental.
■What research method would you use to conduct your experiment? The research method I would use to conduct my experiment would either be a surevey or maybe a naturalistic observation.
■If applicable, what would you put as your independent and dependent variables? My independent variable would be the metro card and the dependent would be the cost.
■Give a hypothesis about what you think you might find.My hypothesis is that the monthly metro card would be more beneficial than buying a single ride metro card everytime.
■What might be the benefits and implications of this study?People who commute or travel a lot in the city would gain from this study to know which metro card is best for them.
■Please reflect on the process of designing this experiment. What were the challenges you faced?
A challenge you can face is that you have to record everytime you use your metro card and sometimes be in a rush and forget to record it.
