I’ve always loved breakfast but sometimes I don’t really know if it should really be considered the “most important meal of the day.” I want to know if having breakfast or correlates with the attention span a student has throughout the day until the next time he/she consumes food. The variables that I would be looking to observe and manipulate would be breakfast and a person’s attention span. The independent variable would be breakfast and the dependent variable would be the attention span of a student. I believe that the correlation design would best suit my research question because I want to see if there is any correlation between those two variables. To conduct my experiment I would do a lab experiment with a placebo to see the effects of breakfast on a student’s attention span in class. My hypothesis would be that the students attention span in class will increase with breakfast and decrease without breakfast. The benefits of this study would be for students and their grades because; if you know that breakfast affects your attention in class then you would eat breakfast so that you can be focused in class. The process had of designing this experiment wasn’t as hard or as easy as I expected it to be because, there were so many things that you had to take into consideration. There weren’t really any challenges but if I had to name one it would be choosing the topic.
