A) Take note of how you feel right now:
I feel so stressed out and tired. I feel exhausted and just want to take a nap but I’m so afraid of sleeping right through the rest of my day. I also feel a little bit tense and my eyes feel heavy.
B) Anxiety: 4.5
C) Tension: 6.5
I feel a lot of tension in my arms and lower body. (I did a ton of walking today :P)
- Reassess your mood on the chart.
I feel calm and relaxed, a little bit tired still but much calmer. I also feel a lot less edgy but I’m still a little bit tense.
- Reassess your level of anxiety from 1 to 10.
3.5
C. Reasses your level of physical tension and rate it from 1 to 10.
4, when I was asked to focus on certain parts of my body I almost felt tension releasing.
IV. Describe the experience– What type of meditation did you choose? Describe what was going on in your mind and your body, what kind of thoughts and sensations did you experience during the meditation? Were there any challenging or frustrating aspects of the experience, and if so, what were they? Would you try this again in the future? Why or why not?
I choose a simple guided meditation because I’ve never done anything like meditation before and want to start with the basics. At first it felt so weird to meditate. My mind just wanted to think about everything else and I wanted to just get up and move. At first it was very frustrating but soon became very relaxing. I think I would try doing meditation again but not by using a recording. So much was going around while I tried to meditate that it was a bit stressful. I was also really tired so after mediating I ended up taking a nap and I’m afraid that might have changed the way I viewed the experience. Next time around I want to register for a Wednesday class to get the true experience.

(above is a picture of the view from my dorm at Ludlow)
For those of you who don’t know me (and in a class of 400 students I’m guessing that’s just about everyone) my name is Nina. After a toilsome college decision process I decided to go to Baruch and I guess I kind of like being a Baruch student at the moment. Even if it means I’m a freshman again and I have to start from the bottom of the totem pole and build my way up.
Oddly enough one of my favorite things to do is blog. In fact I’ll admit to feeling a little self conscious when one of the first chapters in our psychology book spoke about a woman who was completely fine with sharing her life with hundred of people, because in a way, I do that myself and quite easily. There’s something so comforting about writing how I feel that I can’t find anywhere else.
But other than blogging I am a closet video-gamer, but don’t get to excited I mostly play Animal Crossing or the Sims. And you’ll likely find me curled up with a good book (I know I’m nerdy :P) or watching The Office or Modern Family on hulu.
My intended major is Marketing with a minor in Psychology although I’m pretty sure that this will change many times over the course of my next four years at Baruch. I’m still figuring out what exactly I want to do with the rest of my life, which can seem like a daunting task as the clock ticks away. My favorite classes so far would include Psychology and Philosophy. I just love the idea of trying to understand the human mind and why we think the way we do and how this affects us.
I am currently a member of Intervarsity Christian fellowship (if you want to join message me and I’ll give you information) as well as WBMB but I literally had my first meeting a couple of hours ago so I’m still figuring out my footing there.
As mentioned before I am a sporadic blogger and this includes tumblr. I have a twitter but I think I might have two followers, one being myself so I’ll refrain from posting that link right about now.
If you happen to see my in class, don’t be afraid to say hi. I’m the type of person who loves meeting new people. And I guess this concludes my hello 🙂

"1. What is your reaction to the choices made by the author of this Reflection in terms of which memories they chose to keep and which memories they are discarding.
Their choices really make sense. Looking to places where you looked to prior your accident could help you trigger your memory.
2. How would you feel if this friend did not remember you (imagining that you are their longtime friend)?
It would be hard but at the very least I would try to create new memories with this person.
3. What role might you play in helping them reconstruct their memory?
I would show them old pictures or look through their Facebook and explain everything to them and just guide them through who they were and hope that a part of who they once was is still inside of them.
4. Based on what you’ve learned in class and through your readings, what memory encoding, consolidation, and retrieval techniques might you use or teach to help this person recover and reintegrate their memories?
I would show them old pictures and videos of our friendship and take them places we had good memories together."

I completely understand. You are in this new and crazy place in your life now where everything you thought you once knew is called into judgement. How can I expect you to feel anything but scared? I'm proud of the steps you are willing to take in hopes of regaining your memory.
2. How would you feel if this friend did not remember you (imagining that you are their longtime friend)?
It would make me sad. Of course I understand that my friend has gone through something horrible and traumatic but it doesn't change the fact that they are my friend and I want them to be able to remember me. I want to be able to think back on the good times and the bad times we had together and just feel like we did before everything in our lives has changed.
3. What role might you play in helping them reconstruct their memory?
I would take my friend places and show them old letters. A friend of mine and myself keep a blog and write how we feel to each other. I would love the opportunity to be able to show her this and how much our friendship really meant.
4. Based on what you’ve learned in class and through your readings, what memory encoding, consolidation, and retrieval techniques might you use or teach to help this person recover and reintegrate their memories?
I would bring her places that might trigger memory or tell her stories that might trigger her emotions like who her first crush was or something difficult she may have went through."

I admit that many things in life can be so incredibly painful, but that is what makes life worth living. To overcome our obstacles and still stand strong. Happy moments influence who we are as people, but so does the hard ones. And sometimes the hard ones mold and change us the most and for the better. This , of course, isn't always the case but bad memories are important too."
