Hi everyone. My name is Svetlana Pak. A lot of people here call me Lana, because my name is hard to pronounce. I am Korean, but was born in Uzbekistan. Even though my native language is supposed to be Korean, it is Russian. I came to United States a little over 2 years ago. Right now I am residing in Brooklyn. I am a transfer student here at Baruch. I am planning to become a Finance major. As for my minor, I am still undecided. I love to read novels and literary works. I also play piano, used to take piano lessons when I was younger. My worst fear is water, or more specifically the big waves in the ocean. I am also very afraid of snakes. I look forward to conversing with you all.
Sincerely,
Svetlana Pak.

"I mostly agree with above comments. I would also like to add that different people react differently to alcohol, so for example one shot might be enough to become intoxicated for one person, while two or three, maybe even five shots are not enough to intoxicate another person. Coming from former Soviet Union, I saw a lot of times when a person performed better while slightly intoxicated rather than when sober. One reason is because for some people anxiety and stress before the exam or some major event can significantly reduce their ability to function at 100%. However, becoming slightly intoxicated led to a relaxed state of being, which in turn led to better results on certain events.
I do agree that in this case using caffeine, like Jeniffer.tejada1 suggested would be the better choice. Though, like alcohol, I also think that the effects of caffeine depend on the person."

I did go to Coney Island beach this summer when it was awful hot, but I did not go too deep in the water because of the waves, just a little above the waist. When I first arrived to NY, I lived on Brighton Beach, Russian community, so Boardwalk was not far from me, and I used to take long walks, it was a good time. Now I live a bit father away, so I don't have the time to enjoy the boardwalk anymore."
