Before meditation:
Before starting this experiment I was very tense and very anxious. For the most part i could identify my tension and stress coming from all my school work. My mood was frustrated, confused and a bit angry. If i had to rate my anxious level it would have been about an 8, and my tension level probably a 9.
During meditation:
When I began the meditation it was a bit difficult to stop the thoughts from appearing into my mind. But after about 5 minutes I would say the thoughts decrease and I could focus on meditating and my breathing, but every once in a while a thought would arise. During this time I felt relax and a bit sleepy. But very at peace. My focus was not on anything that was going on around me but rather on my breathing, bringing my awareness to different things the instructor told us.
After Meditation:
After meditation i felt a lot more relaxed and happier. My anxiety and tension level dropped radically. I didn’t feel worked up or mad about anything, everything was calm and relaxing. If i had to rate my anxiety/tension level I would say it was about a 3 after meditation. I would totally recommend meditation, but not only recommend it, but make it apart of my routine. Sometimes we get so stressed out with life and think we need to party or let loose to feel relaxed, when its as simple as just meditating.

Hi everyone, My name’s Jennifer Tejada I am a transfer student and this is my first semester in Baruch. I graduated from BMCC with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (in short an AAS). Psychology is one of those classes I’ve been dreading but hopefully its not as bad as I’m picturing it (cuz of all the memorization).
ummm a little more about my self is that I was born and raised in New York, but my parents are from El Salvador. I’m shy in small groups but I do love performing in public (yea weird). I don’t like the color pink but do love me some Lasagna =D. I like baseball but don’t like basketball. And yea, that’s about it. Hope my first Semester goes great.

"I agree and disagree with you at the same time. I understand that there are some memories you may not want to never recover but i think all you're memory is important. Because what ever it is that you want to forget has served you as a lesson in one way or another. I think if you attempt to recovery your memory you should try to recovery a vast majority of it not just the good moments. OR just start a brand new life with what you know so far.
If I was you friends it would be very difficult because you would not recognize me. If i was indeed very close to you I would try to get you to remember me by possibly showing you videos of us or things we did together. Possibly anything you have written me that I have kept. I know that our relationship from this point will be strained because you wont remember me and you will be hesitant to relay on me. This will not only cause stress on you but also to those around you. Because we as much as you would want you to remember your past."

Well, my Hypothesis for this experiment would probably be that the students that are married and the students that aren't in a relationship would do much better than the students that are just in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. The reason for this is because although the student might be married their priorities might be more organized than those that are just in a relationship. Students that are married have a family already and probably want to graduate soon so that they can provide for them. Students that are just in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship tend to be preoccupied with what the other is doing, whether he or she is cheating on them or not, whether they are going to meet up later or not. That is why I think married students and students that are not in a relationship would do better than students that just have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.
As to whether there is any harm in this experiment I don't think that there is any harm at all.
There are a few suggestions I would add to make this experiment better. The original experiment puts both "married students" and "students in a relationship" into one category. If I were to conduct this experiment I would have three groups: The married students, The students in a relationship, and students that are not in a relationship. Because like I said I think that married students are probably more motivated than the other two. A way I would change this experiment a little is also instead of having them take a survey at the end of the semester I would check their stress levels every month for a semester. See if people in relationships whether married or just in a relationship have higher stress levels then those that are not in a relationship and see what they are doing to cope with their stress. And see if that effects the grades.
Does the stress of being in a relationship cause an impact on grades?"

Yet if the experiment was conducted in another country where the legal age of drinking is around 16-18 (Like in Europe) then perhaps this Research Experiment can be done. In that case my hypothesis would be that the group that did not drink alcohol will do exceptionally better than the group that consumed alcohol. Even though I think the SAT's are only a requirement to get into a college in the USA.
A way I would improve this study is instead of Alcohol I would use Caffeine. I would conduct this experiment with two groups, one group drink six cups of coffee before an exam and have another group drink no coffee before an exam. Caffeine is suppose to make you more awake, more aware. The group that drank coffee will have a lot of caffeine and more so much more sugar than the group that didn't drink coffee. Which group would do better on the exam? Would the group that drank coffee become jittery and unable to concentrate or would the caffeine help them?"

It's cool to hear that I'm not the only one that's somewhat undecided about their major. My majors Computer Science but i don't even know what i would do with that major to be honest. I too just recently moved but to the upper eat side. Gotta love the city, I grew up here and I'm so excited to be back. Wish ya good in this semester! (cuz remember 80% on your grade is based the test --__--)"

I graduated from BMCC with my associate and now in Baurch to get my Bachelor Degree. I also hear that Baruch is a hard school but I'm up for the challenge. Psychology is the only class I'm worried about tho. Science and Me don't mix, i prefer math or English over science. But these professors seem cool so nothing to worry about. Wish you the best. Transfer sisters!"
