Meditation

I. A) I chose to meditate with the Heart Space meditation by Ronna Kabatznick.  It sounded like a pretty relaxing title so i chose that one.

II. A) Prior to the meditation the moods i experienced was exhausted, confused, bored, and anxious.

B) I would rate my anxiety level on a 1-10 scale a 6.  I had to study for a test and was lacking time.  I would have rated higher if i did not know any materials at all, but luckily i do.

C) I noticed a high level of physical tension in my head.  I rate it a 7.  All my moods triggered a headache.

III. A) After the meditation i feel exhausted and a little bit of anxiety.

B) I rate my anxiety after the meditation a 2-3.

C) 4

IV.  I chose the Heart Space meditation.  I was thinking about what would happen if i gotten a low grade and i was thinking about the upcoming Thanksgiving break.  I felt much lighter in the head area.  The challenging part of this experience was focusing.  I had a lot of different thoughts popping up throughout my meditation.  I would try this in the future again.  I usually stand and close my eyes in the shower if that counts as meditation, but it makes me feel relaxed.

Hello!

Greetings! My name is Andy and I’m a junior.  I’m also a transfer student from City Tech.  I majored and got my associates in accounting there and decided to transfer to Baruch College to continue my education. Hopefully I won’t forget everything I’ve learned since I haven’t taken any major courses for one year now.  I’m born and raised in NY, so I’m pretty much stuck here all my life.  I previously wanted to attend college outside of the city but it’s cozy and more convenient here at Baruch.

Psychology is not my intended major, but it is by far the most interesting class thus far this semester.  Some of my interests are reading articles, listening to music, and watching shows.   After learning the brain chapter … I finally understand something watching House.

I hope everyone have a wonderful and fun semester!

"1. I'm surprised you decided to choose to keep the negative memories because I'm suffering from persistence and it's pretty harsh. However, some bad memories are good, especially the ones that teaches a lesson. 2. How would i feel if this friend did not remember me? I would rage and flip a table ... just joking ;) I would feel sad and awkward because things won't be the same again. 3. A picture is worth a thousand words. I shall become your mentor. I think it's best if i showed some pics or places. 4. I would show pics, tell stories and try to recreate some special moment that might trigger a response in your brain. Like one of those "Did this happen before" moment. I think that's a great way to retrieve some memories."

"• What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? My hypothesis is different from yours. I think students who plays moderately or excessively will have a negative impact on their grades. • What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? I don't think survey will be effective because people who spends a lot of time gaming and might be bias and lower the amount of gaming hours they put on the survey. I suggest trying an experiment. Put one group of students in a room and let them game for an hour and another group to study for one hour. Then let them take a test to see which group did better. • Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) Hm... maybe stress or damage to the body (ie eye, back, hunger) can be a potential harm. • What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! A Follow Up research i would conduct is if playing an educational game has the same potential as studying for an hour. You can play like a historical game, doing missions and such ... or reading from a long textbook for an hour. Then let the groups take a test and see who scores better."

"Hello Tingting. I'm also a transfer student, but from another cuny college. I like to watch movies too, but not scary ones. I have a rather good memory for bad moments so i stick with comedy and action. Psychology is also my favorite class this semester, mainly because the profs are very funny. Hope you have a fun semester!"
