During the 24 hours leading to meditation I was feeling very stressed out and overwhelmed. Work, school, family, and relationships just seem to be too much to handle at times. In particular one thing that has been a major cause for stress lately is registration because I notice that many of the classes I need to take this upcoming semester are filling up quite fast. On a scale of 1 to 10 my anxiety level was at a 7 and I was experiencing tension on my neck which I rate at about an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. After my meditation session it was honestly an incredible feeling my anxiety level probably dropped to like a 3 and the tension on my neck was almost completely gone, like a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. My mood after meditating was very calm and hopeful. The type of meditation that I chose was Guided Meditation and it seriously felt incredible. While I was meditating I just tried to focus on my breathing and in a sense blank out, I did not want to think about anything I just wanted to enter deep relaxation. Many thoughts were trying to come into my mind but I tried blocking them by strictly focusing on my breathing. It was a bit challenging at first with the noise in my house like for example talking and television but as I got more into it I slowly learned how to block those noises from my mind. I would definitely try meditating again in the future, I was actually very excited when I learned that my EC Reflection was on meditation because since we did a chapter on it I have been wanting to try it. Overall it was an amazing experience and I would totally recommend it for all of you to try.

"I agree with your decision to visit a professional to aid you in your process of recovering your memories, he or she will be able to inform you about the best methods for you to try. It is also a good decision to talk to your family and close friends because of course they are the people that know you the best and will be able to provide you with detailed information about you. Your decision to keep all of your memories is a very good decision because all of our memories both good and bad make us who we are today. Through our experiences and mistakes we learn to make better decisions.
If you did not remember me it would be very sad for me because we have been friends for a long time and I considered you my best friend. It would not be easy to digest that but I will still help you in the process of recovering your memory. A few of the things I would do would be to first of all show you pictures and talk about the events that we going on in each and every one of the pictures. Episodic memories are memories that we can remember for a very long time especially if they have an emotional aspect to them. Through repetition of the explanation of those events and visiting those places we used to go to often you will recover your memory."

It is unfortunate what happened to you, you have lost all your memories many of which I was a part of. The first thing I would do is show you pictures and explain to you everything that happened during that moment. I would also take you to your favorite places and take you to do the things you loved to do, like going to the movies, ice skating, etc.. Maybe being in those same places that you enjoyed so much before will bring back memories.
I agree with your decision of keeping all of your memories both good and bad because all of our memories are what make us who we are. As you said we learn from our mistakes and that helps us make better decisions in the future.
If you did not remember me at all I think it would feel terrible because we are very close friends and have gone through many life experiences together. I would not let my sadness interfere with our friendship and I would help you with recovering your memory. We can start by talking about important events that occurred throughout your life. After you have been exposed to the new information we can work on storing them and consolidating them by employing methods such as repetition. Hopefully when we start talking about your memories again you will be able to retrieve the information I have given you and tell me what you have learned. The process will not be an easy one but together we will be able to rebuild your memories."

I would also start by looking at pictures from when I was a child up until now; it is the first step in identifying or in this case learning who you are. This is also a chance to get a glimpse of some of the experiences that you have been through and can not remember now. I would also choose to recover all of the memories from my life because every experience as small as it may seen plays a significant role in shaping a person into what they are."

Most of us work, go to school, and have many late night study sessions because we don't have time during the day or simply due to procrastination. My hypothesis would be that students who sleep more will perform better in class. After a good night's sleep you are able to be more aware of whats going on around you and you pay more attention in class, thus resulting in better grades. I don't think that there are any drawbacks or harmful impacts from this experiment. I believe that the results of this experiment will actually help college students realize that sleep is very important for their performance in school."
posted on Oct 10, 2011, on the post Is there a direct link between sleep and academic success?"I think this would be a great experiment!! My hypothesis would be that writing class notes on your notebook will result in remembering class material easier, thus getting better grades on tests. Personally I am "old fashioned" I prefer writing my notes on paper because I am able to remember things more and be more mindful about what I am writing down. Not only that, but I believe that if I was to use my laptop for taking notes I will be tempted to do other things online. But, I also agree that it does depend on the person and their preference so maybe that will be a conflicting factor in this experiment."
