Mediation

A. How do you feel Today?

I feel overwhelmed, angry and a little bit happy throughout the day.

B. Assess your overall level of anxiety on a scale of 1 to 10.

My anxiety level would be a level 7, I was worry about finals coming up and how i have to do good on them and the studying it takes to do good on the tests and the level of stress that arises during those times and that everything build upon me and doesn’t go out, until it is all over.

C. Assess the level of physical tension in your body- where do you notice the tension? Try rating your overall tension on a scale of 1 to 10.

III. After you have finished your meditation, re-asses your state of mind and body.
A. Reassess your mood on the chart.

I feel happy, Shocked and surprised. I feel these ways because i didn’t know how you can take out all the rage that is built inside your body and daily stress, outside to the other side of the world.
B. Reassess your level of anxiety from 1 to 10.

My level of anxiety is a level 3, I feel relieved and that everything built on me is let go onto the university and that i should be doing this more daily.

C. Reasses your level of physical tension and rate it from 1 to 10.

Physical tension would be a 5, I feel much relieved as a weight has been lifted off my shoulder

IV. Describe the experience– What type of meditation did you choose? Describe what was going on in your mind and your body, what kind of thoughts and sensations did you experience during the meditation? Were there any challenging or frustrating aspects of the experience, and if so, what were they? Would you try this again in the future? Why or why not?

I choose the Guided body scan, the guy started out telling us to close our eyes and then put all our thoughts into our brain and bring it down into our mouth and ears in the lower parts of the body and remove all those out of you. I felt a bit of happiness, because of the pleasure it was bringing towards me and the good tension. I did not feel any challenging aspects of the experience, it went pretty smoothly. I would definitely, try this again to remove the tension that is building on me in the future, with any stress, I am having daily or weekly. I would try this again because it relieves all body tensions and makes you forgot about the stressful thoughts in your mind, that is affecting your body and how your body reacts to those stresses.

"Imagine you are a longtime friend of the person who wrote one of the reflection pieces, and consider these issues for your own comment. 1. What is your reaction to the choices made by the author of this Reflection in terms of which memories they chose to keep and which memories they are discarding ? I believe the author was right to say he would choose different aspects of his life and different memory which he would pick that are important to him. 2. How would you feel if this friend did not remember you (imagining that you are their longtime friend)? I would feel an missing part in my heart and i would be devastated. 3. What role might you play in helping them reconstruct their memory? I would take them to places where we hang out and to the school we went together to see if he can recall any teachers or other friends in teh school. 4. Based on what you’ve learned in class and through your readings, what memory encoding, consolidation, and retrieval techniques might you use or teach to help this person recover and reintegrate their memories? I would use retrieval, i would dig deep in the person so he regains some sort of memory of how his life was and the people he knew and how it all went throughout daily. Thank You"

"This is very interesting Experiment Mr. Chang, I find it the same way because stress comes about from numerous things. Studying could be one of them, during finals week or midterms you are staying up all nights for weeks trying to get all the information into your brain and that could lead to sleep deprivation and health risks, headaches, starting to cough, getting colds. Education can be stressful and health risks can come about from that. Interesting experiment that many studies should think about in my opinion. Thank You"

"* What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? my hypothesis would be is it true that dorming is better than commuting and what are the effects of it. * What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? I suggest how you commute to school either by bus or train or car * Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) Not that i Think of, there are non potential harmful effects * What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! follow up study would be how either traveling by car, train or bus affects knowledge and grades and time"
