Oh memory where are you?

I would begin my process of recovering my memory by turning to the people who seem to be very concerned about me, which would be my parents and close friends. I would proceed by first looking at my electronic devices reading messages, notes anything I have written down. Also I would look at pictures and when I consistently see the same people over again, I can get an idea on their contributions and significance towards my existence. As I embark on this journey I know that I face confusion, anxiety,  sadness because I will have too much dependence on external ideas and comments on who I was as a person.  The memories that I would like to keep are the ones related to childhood and my teenage years. I want to be able to keep the positive happy and joyful memories in my memory. I would like to edit out the frightened and negative memories out of my experience as they would pose as externalities that would try to prevent me from doing something. If I get another chance to do something I wouldn’t have to hold regrets of not doing it. Sometimes fear prevents us from taking initiatives. The feeling of should have, could have, or would have are something I don’t want to keep within me. I want to be abke to achieve my full potential as a person so by removing these externalities I think I would have a better chance in doing so.

I just came to say hell-o ^_^

I am a transfer student from Brooklyn College. I was a laid back social butterfly who was a tad bit lost about myself. I wasn’t as active or more aware of my potentials as a student and a person as I am here at Baruch. I have joined USG here and I feel like I finally found my niche. Back about 5 years ago in high school, I always wanted to be involved with the student government but was too lazy to do so. I feel like being lazy should be illegal (lol) because it’s poisonous as it blocks a person from achieving their objectives. This is my third semester here at Baruch and so far so good. I was born in Brooklyn and have resided here ever since. I am the oldest in my family of 4, so I shoulder a lot of pressure as everyone looks up to me. I believe that diversity is essential for students in a university that demands you to broaden your horizons. So I tend to network and reach out to different types of people. With that on note it is important as a student academically to have as much fun as you can in what you do even if it is reading a textbook. The best way for me to make learning fun is by applying them with real world experiences. For example I had trouble memorizing the functions of the brain from Chapter 3,  so what I did was that every time I had a conversation with my friends and if any flaws were pointed out, I would jokingly blame it on my left hemisphere.  I love to travel although I have not been able to for a while. I am definitely going to study abroad somewhere in Europe once I am in the Zicklin. My hobbies are music, reading, socializing, eating, and fashion. I am heading towards Finance for my major, while psychology is my intended minor and quite honestly it has been my favorite class so far. I also have liked modern literature, sociology, economics, statistics and history. I am a part of the Undergraduate Student Government here at Baruch, specifically the finance and student services committees. So if anyone has any questions about it or wants to join you can ask me I’ll help you out =)

I love house music this is currently my favorite song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKWK3FNS894

I love the beats for this song and as you can tell it inspired me with my title for this post =D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iZithm861c&feature=related

"1. After reading the reflection writer’s description, what do you think was happening to them during the meditation on a physiological level? Their body had a lot of tension in the muscles so that's why after the mediation they took a nap. 2. Based on your readings throughout the semester, what areas of their central and peripheral nervous systems may have been effected during the meditation? The CNS received sensory information from the nervous system and told the body to be relaxed. The PNS promoted the relaxation response. 3. What questions do you have for the writer about their experience? Did you practice breathing exercises while meditating? 4. Based on the description provided, would you be open to trying the same meditation exercise? Yes I would be open to trying this because it is very beneficial to my body."

"1. After reading the reflection writer’s description, what do you think was happening to them during the meditation on a physiological level? On a physiological level, their anxiety levels were slowly decreasing and the parasympathetic was kicking in to calm the heart rate and breathing down. 2. Based on your readings throughout the semester, what areas of their central and peripheral nervous systems may have been effected during the meditation? The central nervous system, the spinal cord was relaxed and relieved the tense inside of it. 3. What questions do you have for the writer about their experience? Have you considered trying this more frequently? 4. Based on the description provided, would you be open to trying the same meditation exercise? Yes I think this is the best way to relax the body."

"1. After reading the reflection writer’s description, what do you think was happening to them during the meditation on a physiological level? I think since he had so many assignments due and was finally done with them, his mind was focused on the weekend ahead, instead of focusing on the present moment. 2. Based on your readings throughout the semester, what areas of their central and peripheral nervous systems may have been effected during the meditation? In their CNS, the spinal cord was build up with a lot of tension which is why it was uncomfortable for him to do this meditation. In their PNS, the sensory neurons weren't signaling his muscles to relax and release the stress. 3. What questions do you have for the writer about their experience? Did you consider doing deep relaxation instead ? 4. Based on the description provided, would you be open to trying the same meditation exercise? Yes I would be because I have done this before."

"1. After reading the reflection writer’s description, what do you think was happening to them during the meditation on a physiological level? On a physiological level, her muscles were relaxed and the tension in them has dissolved. 2. Based on your readings throughout the semester, what areas of their central and peripheral nervous systems may have been effected during the meditation? In the central nervous system, the spinal cord was relaxed. In the peripheral nervous system, the sensory neurons told her body to settle down and take deep breaths. 3. What questions do you have for the writer about their experience? Did you still feel bored / 4. Based on the description provided, would you be open to trying the same meditation exercise? Yes I will."

"What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? Drinking tea with antioxidents will be beneficial to a persons health, What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? The tea should be categorized such as chamomile jasmine green or black tea, Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) I do not think there will be any drawbacks in this research design unless it is related to sugar levels in the tea then yes it might alter the research. What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! The public will start to drink more tea everyday. I think if we used coffee and tea in the experiment we could measure how a person performance on everyday tasks."

"What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? Sugar intake might or might not increase the performance on an exam What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? I think the researcher should use chocolate and nuts to see which students perform better. Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) I think the drawback would be that some students might be allergic to chocolate or nuts. What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! If the results come out as hypothesized the general public might increase their intake on either chocolate or nuts."

"What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? Students with higher incomes in the family might score the same as students with lower incomes What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? I think the researcher should focus on background influences in both the higher and lower incomes of the students. Perhaps the family history may have influence on the students ability to do well or poor on the test. Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) I think the drawbacks would be that it take a great deal of time and that researchers will know who they are studying since it is not a double blind study. What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! Psychologically, the public might say to themselves that it is not their fault that they can or cannot do well in school."

"What would be your hypothesis of the study’s outcome? The sale of Samsung Galaxy might skyrocket due to the low pricing versus the overpriced Apple Ipad. What suggestions do you have for the researcher on how to improve or adjust the proposed study? I think the researcher should conduct a study on consumers behaviors towards a specific brand such as apple and samsung. When doing the survey find out whether they are biased towards the brands. For example insert the same features of apple ipad but brand it as a samsung galaxy. Are there any drawbacks or potential harmful impacts of this research design (or results?) The main drawbacks of this research design would be that it would be very costly to do. What would be the NEXT STEP after this hypothetical research study were conducted and presented to the public? Can you propose a replication with a good twist? That’s often how research works and how the field is able to advance. Maybe you can think up a great Follow Up study! The public possibly may be inclined to purchase samsung galaxies if they want a cheaper tablet. The replication would be experimenting on the behaviors of consumers with their brand loyalties. Apple ipads under the name of samsung galaxies would be the independent variable and regular apple ipads would be the dependent."

"@Askar Really great drawings! You should showcase them to the Arts/Community Outreach division of USG at Baruch. @Gurleen creativity is innate, meaning that it can never fade away, so grab a pencil and start drawing again you'll be amazed at what you see =) Good Luck !"

"Hey Roalt, I know how you feel with campus life, I was a transfer student from brooklyn college, which had an extraordinary campus. Initially I was not too happy with Baruch and sort of disliked it. However I have found my place here at Baruch by joining usg. I totally agree with Khuang as it actually DOES take two to tango lol try out the clubs here at Baruch and I can assure you will find something you like. Good luck! =)"
