Memory

I would begin my recovering process by listening the songs that I used to like. Of course I would not remember any songs that I used to like, but I am sure I would find the songs that I saved in my ipod and computer before I injured. Recovering in my own room is very important because I used to have a life in the room. I sure I would somehow feel close when I discover something like pictures, clothes, and diary. Even if I don’t feel anything about them, I would at least know what kind of person I used to be.

During the process, I am sure that there would be a lots of frustrating moments. I might want to give up, and not think about anything, but just live on a new life. However, the emptiness must bother me all the time. I could not have a nice chat with my old friends because I don’t even remember them. During this period, I would lose my temper always or maybe I would be extremely silent.

If I could choose to pick my old memory, of course I would first want to choose something happy and meaningful. Besides, I would still want to pick small amount of sadness memory. If my memory is full of happiness, I think I would feel really incomplete. Nobody can have a completely happy life, and absolutely no sadness, which is already an odd life. Therefore, I would like to choose a big percentage of happiness, positives and meaningfulness.

Hello~

Hello everyone! My name is Yuting Luo, but I also encourage people to call me Michelle because it is easier to use an English name in a foreign country. I just transferred from Hunter college, and I am going to major in Accounting (yes, one more Accounting major). Psychology is social science, and I am very poor at every science class.

Recently, I am working at Quickly bubble tea store in Elmhurst, Queens. Just for making a little extra dollars to afford my hobbies. I love arts and shopping.

Ok that is all. English writing is killing me……-.-

"Hey Tingting, how are you doing so far?"

"1. After reading the reflection writer’s description, what do you think was happening to them during the meditation on a physiological level? After reading Tingting's reflection, I feel that her mood was stabilized, and she was calm. However, I am not sure if she was aware of the present moment. 2. Based on your readings throughout the semester, what areas of their central and peripheral nervous systems may have been effected during the meditation? During the meditation, meditators' perceptual sensitivity would be improved, and it would be associated with changes in brain anatomy and activation. 3. What questions do you have for the writer about their experience? I understand Tingting's feeling during her meditation. But I am just wondering what scenes that she could picture in her mind when she was following the guide. Can she hold the pictures untile the end? 4. Based on the description provided, would you be open to trying the same meditation exercise? I am a Buddist, so I attend to meditation class every Friday. It is still hard for me to focus on the in-and-out breathe with puting numbers. Because of the stress and distractions, I have to remind myself to pull my mind back again. But every after the meditaion, I feel fresh and awake."

"Hello GG, thank you for your comment. I am trying to remember if you are the one who sits on my right hand side or left hand side. I haven't declare my major yet, so I don't know if I can "get" Accounting or not. At this point, I just want to stay at school as long as I can because everyone just keeps telling me that it is so hard to survive in the society where you are not a native. Anyway, it is really nice to have a new friend! See you in the class."
