Hi all,
This assignment is for ENG 2100
I’m Isaac Abed. About me: born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Class of 2025.
- My goal in this course is to improve my skills in regards to writing and sending messages in a more professional manner. I want to earn an A as well because English is the language we speak and I want to perfect my skills in my dominant language.
- I am a little confused how our texts and readings tie into everything. I might have to read into it a little more. I do have a question on how grading works, what is the determining factors on assignments regards to grades?
- I have been taught to always write something that I can confidently stand by if I were to speak about it in public. I learnt this when I asked my teacher how can improve my professional skills, he told me to think of what I am writing as how I want to sound in person presenting my case. I believe this rule can help me further improve my comprehension skills, and it is effective because thinking this way changes ones perspective on how they want to sound.
- I email tenants daily trying, in a professional way, to create rapport. Writing is key in my industry because I need my tenant to understand and be entertained in what I am trying to pitch him. I enjoy writing because it truly is an art to expand our minds.

Great questions! The readings tie in to our writing assignments in a couple ways. Usually they’re themed around the bigger writing task we’re working on — the Literacy Narrative in this first unit. You often will have prompts for the Writer’s Journal that ask you to engage with the reading as well.
The Grading is all based on completion. So if you do the writing task — like turn in a complete draft — you’ll earn a “Complete.” You’ll then get feedback from me on your draft to help you revise and continue improving your writing.
