Alternative Version #1

I could tell Jeneice was not a fan of this class… she had mentioned it multiple times a day. I don’t blame her though, the conditions were gruesome. I was one of her very good friends in the class and we always had a great laugh together. Through each unit, I had to help push her through assignments because I saw how much she struggled with paying attention to the material. If we weren’t spending our time chatting and laughing she usually had a dull look on her face from boredom. When we finally got to the Greek mythology unit, I noticed a different look on her face. She still wasn’t smiling however there was a small impression of enjoyment in her eyes. I noticed I didn’t have to help her at all with this unit. She was interested and did each assignment with ease. I also noticed she started reading Greek mythology books on her own time…before class would start, in the lunch room, and of course, she mentioned she was reading at home. I realized she had gained an interest in this subject from a class neither of us seriously cared for.
