The enrichment workshop I decided to choose for my first blog post was the Vark Quiz questionnaire online. Personally I probably would of enjoyed going to a fair or attend an athletic event instead, but since school was closed on Monday and Tuesday due to Rosh Hashanah, there was only one option left for me which was the Vark Quiz. The Vark Quiz consisted of 16 questions and is supposed to help students determine how they learn best. After taking the quiz they give you a score for Visual (8), Aural (9), Read/Write (8), and Kinesthetic (9). I find this quiz to be inaccurate and not too descriptive because some of the questions they ask you doesn’t really make any sense and they just give you a score but doesn’t tell you what it is out of. Also, I feel like I learn better when a teacher shows us a demonstration or example on how to do the work better then if a teacher just tells us to read the textbook. The quiz gave me a score of 8 for visual and a score of 8 for reading and writing which doesn’t make sense since I feel like I am more of a hands on learner. Therefore, I conclude that this quiz is not very accurate and doesn’t determine how a student would learn best.
