The Chinese workforce has greatly shifted over the past few years, with a lot of immigrants coming during the 1960s. Many Chinese immigrants came to New York City with nothing so their options were very limited. A lot of these immigrants would slowly work in clothing factories, and with word of mouth, the garment industry began to flourish. However, change is the only thing constant over time. Garment industries slow down as Chinese immigrants begin to learn and branch out into new industries.
