About This Project
To say the fall of 2008 was eventful would be an understatement. Not only did the United States elect its first African-American president, the economy took a terrible dive. These stories and multimedia features by Baruch College journalism students* create a backdrop to these historic events. From a graffiti artist moving to Florida to a young businessman dealing with a job loss to an activist figuring out how to feed the growing ranks of hungry, these stories take you deep into the city.
*This project was produced by students in the fall 2008 section of ENG 3500 taught by Assistant Prof. Vera Haller of the Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions.
