ABOUT THIS PROJECT
In a city known for its fast pace, many New Yorkers confronted the economic downturn of 2009 by looking to move forward as quickly as possible. This collection of news stories and multimedia features produced by journalism students at Baruch College examines the different ways in which individuals and communities reacted to the changes happening around them. They include stories about rappers looking for new audiences, business people launching new “green” ventures, urban families raising their own chickens and athletes embracing the controversial sport of mixed martial arts.
