Being Nizynski, Never Before Seen in Theater

An event is taking place, one that has never seen the light of day in theater. A famous dancer of last century, Vaslav Nijinsky and his story, through a performance of his later life by Marek Prystup. He underwent struggle and confusion throughout his life, and was said to have had schizophrenia when rumors have it, it was all just in his mind and he actually wanted to be in a mental hospital. All the while, he held on to his art, which was what he held dear to throughout his life. He died at the age of 60.

Marek Prystup, now 60, is doing a play on his emotion filled, artistic life. Vertues are ever present in the degree in which he shines upon Nizynski’s life and emotion. The play is called “Being Nizynski”.

This has never been done before in play, nor in film. Only in literature, and this play is an adaptation off of that literature. It’s a one man show, featuring Marek Prystup, strictly concerning the life of Nijinsky. Acclaimed and legendary Hollywood actress, Ellen Barston is backing the show and had this to say, “I feel like he really does touch the feelings; what it’s conveying, what a madman is. And what it’s like to have that music in his head, to be a victim of it. It’s emotionally rich. “. Marek Prystup’s word about the show, in which he’s the only actor and is directing as well, “It’s something I wanted to do my whole life.”
