By Monday, March 20, you must complete all interviews for your podcast story, collecting audio on your smart phone or audio recorder, signed out from department. You must also write up a draft script of your podcast showing narration and audio clips from your interviews that you bring to class for workshopping.

Story ideas for podcast:

Look for an interesting local news story. (Reference bialy/surfing podcasts we’ll listen to in class). It could be a community issue that is being debated in a particular neighborhood. Look around you when you’re walking in the city, talk to friends and neighbors about what they are talking about in their neighborhoods. Try to keep it simple and focused on one clearly defined subject. If you are going to profile a small business, make sure it doesn’t just promote their business. The story has to be part of a bigger trend or issue.
