Jump Ball will fill several voids. Filling the void of figuring out what leagues, camps, and clinics are available in New York. Parents will know the history of the establishments and understand why these leagues are important to the basketball community. Parents that are on the fence about basketball leagues will see how empowering these leagues, camps, and clinics are to our youth’s development. We envision doing insightful stories about the directors, managers, and organizers who make these events possible. We interview specific kids and their parents who have been in certain leagues, camps, or clinics since they were young asking them how basketball empowers them, but also how New York tradition plays a role in this inspiration. What will be the most important coverage that I plan on tackling is how these youth leagues serve disadvantaged youth throughout the communities, and how important is it for the leagues to include college prep and possible college scholarships.
