Why did I choose finance as my major?  To be honest, I do not know at this moment if I want finance as my major. I am still debating if I prefer accounting or finance.  Both of the majors interest me but I decided to explore finance for now. There are two primary reasons for choosing finance over accounting. The first reason is my 11th-grade teacher, Ms. Previty. Ms. Previty taught me accounting and economics in 11th grade. At first, I wasn’t interested in the class but the methods she used to teach made the class exciting. She encouraged critical thinking and did a lot of group activities to motivate the class. Also, she is a nice and patient teacher that will answer any question we have. As a student, I made a lot of countless mistakes during the projects.  In accounting, I learned that one mistake like misreading numbers will mess up your projections and I need to be careful. Typically, I made a lot of mistakes during accounting but it teaches me a valuable lesson. I learned to always check my work for any careless mistakes and work with other classmates. My accounting class taught me teamwork and it’s essential to communicate with people as no one is perfect. To major in accounting or finance, you need to be able to communicate with your teammates. The second reason is my uncle recommend me the major. I respect my uncle because he is funny and nice to any person.  He said, “ Choose finance for now.” He told me I can’t do accounting unless I truly am interested in accounting. My uncle, an accountant, describes his experiences in accounting where many people quit accounting because it requires a lot of dedication. If you don’t have the dedication to do accounting, accounting will be boring to you. Trusting my uncle’s words, I choose finance as my major but I might change my major to accounting in the future.

Overall, I hope to teach you about finance in my blog.  I will do my best to not make it boring and provide a wonderful experience for my readers. Please do not hesitate to leave comments to improve my blog.
