3/29 – 4/2

Denice knew that I was on spring break so she let me have the week off since nothing was ready at the moment to be edited for the design team.

3/22 – 3/26

This week was much more lax compared to the previous weeks since I just finished a project for the merch store. On Monday during our team meetings, I was informed that I was going to put on the May issue to help with interior layouts, editing photos, and creating designs for the pages. I feel like I am definitely more suited and comfortable to work on layouts and editing photos as compared to making merch designs. I am definitely excited to work on the issues again as my last one was in January.

3/15 -3/19

For this week, my space design was approved by Emmy, the store manager. We moved to the next stage of implementing the design on some mockups. I decided on using my design on a hoodie as I thought that would look the best. I have never done mockups for clothing before so this was definitely a new experience. I’ve only done mockups for magazine and poster layouts for class. Fortunately, Emmy had .psd mockups created and saved by one of the previous designers so all I had to do was open the file and implement my design over the model. After a few tweaks and edits, my hoodie design was ready to be put up on the store’s website in a couple days. It is definitely rewarding to create something that people have access to buy. That possibly, someone out there might like my design so much enough to buy a hoodie.

3/8 to 3/12

After brainstorming a couple of ideas for the merch, I came up with one design for their space theme collection. Below is the png to my design that I created. I’m hoping to use this design on maybe a hoodie or a pair of sweats once it gets approved by Emmy.

3/1 to 3/5

For this week, I took a break from assisting with interior layouts and editing photos for the magazine. I begun working with Emmy, whose in charge in managing their online store. We worked in brainstorming a couple of design ideas for some of the collections over the week. I have never worked in coming up for designs for t-shirts, hoodies, and other merch items so it was a great insightful experience.
