Apricots

My favorite food is a fresh apricot. It’s nearly impossible to find really good ones here in New York, though. When I visited California as a kid, I remember eating the most amazing apricots.

    Hello.

In my country where I came from, which is actually Moldova not Russia, very ripe and delicious fruits. I remember, when I was little, I would climb up trees and eat apricots, mulberries or walnuts (when they were still green) from the trees. My grandma used to make jam out of green walnuts. Those kind of trees were everywhere in my city. Even 5-story buildings would be covered with growing grapes. With the reach of my hand I could eat grapes from my grandma’s balcony. Sometimes I miss the real taste of fruits. Thanks.

My love of fresh fruit also came from being able to pick it myself. In the house in south Florida where I grew up, we had in our yard oranges, limes, coconuts, mangoes, papayas, carambola, bananas, and loquats. On a related note, my dislike of yard work comes from untold hours tending to all those trees and plants (weeding, watering, trimming, fertilizing, etc.)
