damla’s favorite food

My favorite food is manti, which is a traditional Turkish dish that is also found across other cultures. Manti are, in simplest terms, dumplings. These savory pastries are typically filled with ground beef. In Uzbek culture, cabbage is also a popular filling. The bigger ones are steamed and the little ones can be boiled and served with yogurt or served in a soup.

Oh yes, we also have Manti, the meat inside is usually mixed with onion, spices, and sometimes pumpkin which makes it delicious.

I like dumplings. I was born in Russia where Russian dumplings (ravioli) is a very popular dish. We call it Pelmeni. They can be filled with meat (pork, lamb, beef, or any kind of meat), also can be with fish, potatoes, or mushrooms. My daughter loves them too. The mixing together of different kinds of meat is also popular such as chicken and pork together, called Siberian Pelmeni.
